UNO and Omaha Area Youth Orchestras (OAYO) is offering a Chamber Music Institute from June 11 to June 15, 2025.

For advanced high school students (including 2025 graduating seniors). Students will be placed into a small chamber ensemble that will be coached by, or joined, by professional musicians and educators! We are accepting all instrumentation (woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion) and voice to come and audition for the institute. If the current student is not a part of OAYO’s Youth Symphony ensemble, we ask them to submit an audition consisting of 2 scales of student’s choice, a 2–3-minute solo or etude and required excerpt for their instrument.

• Dress is concert black, except seniors may wear prom attire!

Chamber Orchestra performs at the Tri-Millard Orchestra Festival.

Final details will be released soon.

Chamber Orchestra students have the opportunity to rehearse with the Omaha Symphony on Wednesday, March 26 from 1:30-3 p.m. at MNHS!

We will share more information in Classroom as we receive it. Students will be excused from their 6- and 7-hour classes.

Senior string players – Mr. Mann has 2 options for photos:

Wed. 3/12 at 7 p.m. or next Tuesday, 3/18 at 7 p.m.

Wednesday, March 12, 10 a.m. MNHS Auditorium – (makeup concert for March 4 cancellation)

10-12th grade orchestra students will perform with their 8th grade counterparts.

Rehearsal starts at 9:00 a.m.; concert at 10:00 a.m.

Parents can attend if available. Note that parking is at a premium and there may not be spots available on campus! Arrive by 9:45 a.m., bring your ID. Sign in at the security desk, then come straight to the auditorium.

We will have a pizza lunch after our concert! Parents, please fill out this form so we know about your child’s dietary needs/restrictions.

Monday, January 27 – It’s back at the Baxter!
All orchestra students will participate in this once-a-year music clinic and concert.

The All-Millard Orchestra Festival is a wonderful concert featuring all of the 8-12th grade orchestra students in Millard. This year it is on January 27th at 7 p.m. at the Baxter Arena. Don’t miss seeing your child in this incredible performance!

Parents/legal guardians, please complete this online permission form by Jan. 10. Your help as a volunteer is greatly appreciated. See the Parent Letter for more details.

Chaperones – It’s helpful to have at least 5 chaperones for morning rehearsal and 3 for afternoon rehearsal. Parents/legal guardians – please consider volunteering! If you are available to chaperone, indicate on the form.
