Instrument rentals –
If a student is currently using a school instrument, and plans on returning to orchestra in the 2025-26 school year, I will plan on checking out the same instrument to that student. If your student does not currently use a school instrument, but needs to for the 2025-26 school year, please contact Mrs. Martinez. If you do not plan to return to orchestra next year, we will need your instrument returned by May 19. For those returning, we do ask that school instruments be kept at home this summer for additional practice.
Omaha Area Youth Orchestra Auditions –

UNO and Omaha Area Youth Orchestras (OAYO) is offering a Chamber Music Institute from June 11 to June 15, 2025.
For advanced high school students (including 2025 graduating seniors). Students will be placed into a small chamber ensemble that will be coached by, or joined, by professional musicians and educators! We are accepting all instrumentation (woodwinds, brass, strings, percussion) and voice to come and audition for the institute. If the current student is not a part of OAYO’s Youth Symphony ensemble, we ask them to submit an audition consisting of 2 scales of student’s choice, a 2–3-minute solo or etude and required excerpt for their instrument.
For more details including the audition material and audition link – scroll down to the bottom of the link for UNO + OAYO Chamber Music Institue 2025. Any questions, feel free to contact Sophia Potter, Director of Chamber Music Ensemble Programming, at spotter@unomaha.edu.
