Due to the amount of student schedule conflicts with our Awards Night, we have decided to cancel the event for this year. We will set aside time in class to celebrate our accomplishments, view the slideshow and hand out awards, certificates, etc.
WHEN: Sunday, May 7, 1:00 pm (Original date was changed from May 6th.)
WHERE: MNHS Cafeteria and Auditorium
We are performing Howl’s Moving Castle, Top Gun Theme, Journey’s Greatest Hits, Never Gonna Give You Up, School Song, Sweet Caroline, and the MNHS School Song.
This is a required performance for seniors, but not a required performance for string players grades 9-11, HOWEVER, it is important to have good participation and instrument representation. This is part of our community outreach, so it’s important to make a good impression!
Winds and percussion – thank you for playing!
Performers need to be ready to play by 1:00 p.m., so you will need to arrive by 12:30 to perform or by noon to set up.
Dress is concert black – uniforms for orchestra strings, black shirt, black tie, black dress pants or knee-length or longer black skirt or dress – black socks and shoes for all!
Carnival Workers have 2 shifts: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. = set-up; 1 p.m.-4 p.m. = run a booth and clean up afterward. Wear orchestra shirts or Millard North shirts and jeans/pants of your choice.
If your child has earned enough points to qualify for letter award consideration, please have them complete the form. They can copy the doc, fill it out, and turn it in on Google Classroom, or they can print it, complete it, and turn it in to Mrs. Martinez or Mrs. Lund. Students must total their own points. We will review the submissions and post letter awardees in Google Classroom. They will also be recognized at the May 12 orchestra awards ceremony.
The fireworks stand is a great way to serve our Millard community while meeting other orchestra families!
Sign up to work the fireworks stand, run by the Mustang Booster Club!
A cut of the profits will go toward funding orchestra activities! Available times are Monday, July 1 from 9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and Tuesday, July 2 from 6-10 p.m. Thanks in advance for your help! (Students can earn orchestra letter points and volunteer hours from serving.)
If your child completed the Private Lesson Instruction Course, they are eligible to be on the high school tutor list I send out to Millard orchestra teachers to share with their families.
